How to disappear (and come back better)

sent by Armando Matijevich │

Starting August 2nd, I’m going off the grid.
Fully. No phone, no laptop, no screens.
Just Andrea, the island, the sea, and a whole lot of fyaka.

I’ll be back on August 18th.
But not the same version of me.

Because here’s what people don’t always see –
You don’t just unplug. You prepare to vanish.

It’s not a vacation. It’s a reset.
And resets require planning.

How I prepare for it

A few simple rules help make this possible:

– Scan the calendar and reach out to anyone who might need a heads up.
– Let family know in advance – no surprises if things go quiet.
– Charge up the old Nokia, pop in a local SIM. No apps, no data. Just calls, in case of emergency.
– Reschedule or cancel anything non-essential.
– Wrap up the big stuff early.

But more than logistics, I set one clear intention:

I’m not doing this to come back with more ideas.
I’m doing this to come back with less noise

One Line to Carry With You:

Turns out, the ultimate luxury retreat is no phone and a bad signal.

Truly yours, this moment.

About the newsletter

Fyaka is the Croatian word for being fully present, relaxed, and unbothered by the rush of the world. It’s not laziness – it’s rhythm. And it’s changed the way I live, work, and lead.

Every week, I send one short email to help you reconnect with that space inside yourself. It’s about doing less, feeling more, and staying energized without the burnout.

This newsletter is where I share what makes it possible.
