Head or Heart?

sent by Armando Matijevich │

Dear friend,

Lately, I’ve been asking myself a simple question:

What actually moves us – the head or the heart?
And maybe more importantly – what should move us?

When we listen too much to the head, we often drift into perfectionism.
Everything gets filtered through logic.
Lowered to what’s “realistic.”
Safe. Measurable. Acceptable.

I’m not sure how good that really is.

Sometimes, I honestly think it’s better to be a little “dumber.”
Not careless – just less controlled.
Less obsessed with getting everything right.
Because too much thinking has a way of flattening life.

And when we let the heart lead…

The heart doesn’t argue.
It doesn’t optimize.
It just knows.

I’ve started thinking of it this way:
the heart is the front end – it receives and feels first.
The head is the back end – it organizes and explains later.

The trouble starts when we reverse the order.

When we demand clarity before alignment.
When we try to think our way into a life, instead of feeling our way into it.

So should we live from the heart and let the head follow?
Or is there a balance we’re meant to find?

I don’t have a clean answer yet.
This is something I’m actively sitting with.

But what I do notice is this:
whenever I slow down enough to listen inward – before comparing, before optimizing, before defining – things tend to fall into place more naturally.

Not perfectly.
But honestly.

Maybe the heart doesn’t replace the head.
Maybe it simply needs to go first.

That’s where I am right now.

One Line to Carry With You:

Let the heart lead – the head will catch up.

Truly yours, this moment.

Armando
