What the Dalmatian coast taught me about pace

Not everything that moves fast is progress.

If you’ve been reading so far, you know Fyaka isn’t just a productivity trick.
It’s a mindset. A rhythm. A way of being.

But for me, it’s also a place.

I was born and raised in Split, Croatia – on the Dalmatian coast.
Here, the sea is always nearby. Coffee is never rushed.
And no one’s impressed by how full your calendar is.

Growing up, I didn’t realize how rare that was.
Only later – spending years in Silicon Valley, moving at full speed – did I start to understand the wisdom of where I came from.

Not everything that moves fast is progress.
Not everything that’s slow is broken.

Fyaka isn’t just a reminder to breathe.
It’s a way of protecting what matters – your energy, your clarity, your joy.

This Week’s Thought to Carry:

Where in your life would a slower rhythm feel more honest?

Until next Thursday,

Protect the rhythm.
The rest will follow.

Truly yours, this moment.

Armando

About the newsletter

Fyaka is the Croatian word for being fully present, relaxed, and unbothered by the rush of the world. It’s not laziness – it’s rhythm. And it’s changed the way I live, work, and lead.

Every week, I send one short email to help you reconnect with that space inside yourself. It’s about doing less, feeling more, and staying energized without the burnout.

This newsletter is where I share what makes it possible.
